Olympian shooter Ghulam Mustafa Bashir fires 578-19x to finish sixth and secure a place in the eight-man final

Ghulam Mustafa Bashir qualified for the final in the men’s 25 metres rapid-fire pistol competition at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, finishing sixth in qualification with 578 points.
Bashir, competing at the Aichi Prefecture General Shooting Gallery, recorded 19 inner tens X to secure one of the eight qualifying places. China’s Su Lianbofan topped the qualification with 592 points and 24 Xs, setting a new Asian Games qualification record.
South Korea’s Lee Gunhyeok finished second on 588, while compatriot Yoon Seoyeong was third with 581. Kazakhstan’s Nikita Chiryukin placed fifth on 578, ahead of Bashir on the same score but with more Xs separating the positions.
Vietnam’s Pham Quang Huy and Indonesia’s Suteja Dewa Putu Yadi also advanced after scoring 578.
India’s Anish finished ninth on 576, missing the eight-man final qualification cut. China’s He Shiyu also scored 576 but finished 10th.
The final is also scheduled for Thursday (today).
