RAWALPINDI:
A total of 255 employees at three government hospitals in Rawalpindi remain unpaid as of the 18th of Ramazan, sparking frustration among staff with only 12 days left before Eidul Fitr.
At Holy Family Hospital, 115 regular employees working on permits are awaiting their salaries. Meanwhile, 85 daily-wage workers at Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital (RTH) and 55 daily-wage employees at Benazir Bhutto Hospital have also not been paid.
Last month, the employees received only 22 days’ salary after an eight-day deduction.
According to sources, the hospitals do not have a dedicated budget for staff salaries. Payments have instead been made from other budget heads, but funds in those alternative heads have now been exhausted, preventing further salary disbursement.

Employees at Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital have previously staged protests demanding permanent employment and regular salary payments.
The continued delay has raised serious concerns among staff across the three hospitals.
Employees are now demanding the immediate payment of their full salaries, including arrears, and have warned that they may halt work and stage further protests if their demands are not met.
