PM, Qatari Emir reaffirm to further strengthen deep-rooted fraternal ties, promote regional peace

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Pakistan and Qatar.

The prime minister held a telephone conversation with the Qatari amir, during which both leaders exchanged views on regional and international developments. They also reiterated their commitment to working together to promote peace, stability and prosperity in the region and beyond.

“During their warm and cordial conversation, the two leaders extended heartiest felicitations to each other on the blessed occasion of the Holy month of Ramazan and prayed for peace and tranquility of the Ummah,” the statement said.

PM Shehbaz also expressed his deep appreciation for Qatar’s diplomatic efforts, under the leadership of Sheikh Tamim to foster peace and reconciliation in the Middle East and other parts of the world.

Separately, on his X account, the prime minister shared that he had a “most warm and cordial telephone conversation” with his “dear brother”.

He said the leaders exchanged felicitations on the occasion of holy Ramzan and prayed for the peace, unity and tranquility of the Muslim world.

“I also conveyed my deep appreciation for Qatar’s diplomatic efforts … to advance peace and reconciliation in the Middle East and beyond,” he added.
