KARACHI:

Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, in collaboration with Halqa-e-Fikr-o-Nazar, organized a spiritually uplifting “Mehfil-e-Naat and Iftar for the Esal-e-Sawab of Khurshid Iqbal Haider” at the Haseena Moin Hall, Ahmed Shah Building.

The gathering brought together scholars, literary figures, and community members to pay tribute and seek blessings through recitations and reflection. Dr. Abid Sherwani (Advocate), Rizwana Shahid, and Shahid Khameesa attended the event as chief guests, while Dr. Farhana Owais performed the duties of moderator. Chairperson of Halqa-e-Fikr-o-Nazar Shahida Khurshid Kanwal warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and participants. The Mehfil-e-Naat commenced with Hamd and Qirat presented by Yousaf Siddiqui. Renowned naat reciters including Almas Nayab, Sana Ali, Kashaf Anwar, Syed Moeen Fareed, Noreen Afzal, Muhammad Nasir Yameen, and Hafiz Nauman Tahir presented heartfelt naat in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Dr. Sajida Parveen delivered an insightful lecture on the topic “Ramadan-ul-Mubarak and Unity among Muslims.” Dr. Sajida Parveen further explained that the process of revelation carried immense spiritual weight. She noted that when revelation descended upon the Holy Prophet while he was riding his camel Qaswa, the heaviness of the revelation would cause the camel to sit down. Once the revelation concluded, the camel would rise again, demonstrating the profound gravity of divine communication.

She also narrated an incident reported by Hazrat Zaid bin Harith, who recalled that while sitting beside the Holy Prophet in Masjid-e-Nabvi, an ayah of Surah An-Nisa was revealed. At that moment, the Prophet’s knee was touching his knee, and he felt as though an immense weight had been placed upon it, to the extent that he feared it might break. After the revelation ended, the Prophet instructed the scribe of revelation to record the verse.

“This illustrates the greatness, wisdom, and divine power embedded in the Holy Qur’an,” she remarked. Dr. Sajida Parveen urged Muslims to strengthen their relationship with the Qur’an by reading it, understanding its meanings, and implementing its teachings in their daily lives. “The Qur’an teaches peace, compassion, and humanity. It is the path to our salvation,” she concluded.Among those present at the Mehfil-e-Naat and Iftar were Hammad Ali, Shahid Satti, Rani Apa, Muhammad Naeem, Ruby Raza, Haya Nauman, Ifrah bilal , Muhammad Ali .
