Islamabad Express derails on Pindi-Karachi route, leaving dozens injured

The Islamabad Express train traveling from Rawalpindi to Karachi derailed on Friday, resulting 46 passengers being injured. According to Express News, the incident took place near Nullah Dek, close to Kala Shah Kaku, where several of the train’s carriages derailed.

Following the accident, Rescue 1122 teams, along with passengers, worked swiftly to rescue the injured, evacuating them from the derailed carriages.

The Railways minister has taken notice of the incident and expressed his condolences. A committee has been formed to investigate the causes of the accident and has been directed to submit a report within seven days.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his sorrow over the accident, instructing authorities to begin immediate rescue operations and ensure timely assistance for the passengers involved in the train crash between Kala Shah Kaku and Muridke.
