Pakistan continued its winning streak and qualified for the men’s volleyball final of the Asian Youth Games after defeating Indonesia 3–1 in the semifinals on Monday, ensuring at least a silver medal in the tournament.
The national side, which remains undefeated in the competition, will face Iran in the final on Wednesday for a shot at the gold medal. Iran booked their place in the final after outclassing Thailand 3–0 in the other semifinal.
In the semifinal clash, Indonesia started strong and clinched the first set 25–22, but Pakistan made a remarkable comeback to take the second set 25–13. The momentum continued as Pakistan dominated the third set 25–19, before sealing victory with a hard-fought 26–24 win in the fourth set.
The match showcased Pakistan’s composure under pressure and strong teamwork, particularly in the final two sets.
With this win, Pakistan’s volleyball team has not only guaranteed itself a place on the podium, but also a chance to end the tournament with gold when they take on a formidable Iranian side.
On Sunday, Pakistan Volleyball Team defeated China in straight sets in the quarterfinals to qualify for semifinals.
Pakistan triumphed 3-0, with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, and 25-17, demonstrating confidence, skill, and teamwork throughout the match. From the first serve, the young Pakistani players dominated the court with solid defense, precise spikes, and strong strategic coordination, according to a press release.
Key performers included Khizar Hayat, Muhammad Yahya, Muhammad Anas, and Ajmal Junaid, whose consistent play and determination were instrumental in securing the decisive victory. Pakistan’s serving game and defensive plays were particularly effective, keeping China on the back foot throughout the encounter.
