PESHAWAR:
At least seven police personnel, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of Shadi Khel Police Station, were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion near a police mobile in Lakki Marwat.
K-P police confirmed that a mobile unit was targeted with an IED. Immediate rescue teams were dispatched to the scene following the blast, and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
The deceased include SHO Sadr Azam, Constable Shah Behram (driver), Constables Shah Khalid, Haji Muhammad, Gul Zada, Sakhi Zada, and Constable Insaf Uddin.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi condemned the attack and ordered a detailed report from the K-P Inspector General of Police. He described the death of the seven officers as āextremely tragicā and assured that the provincial government stands in full solidarity with the families of the martyrs.
He also extended condolences to the families of the victims and directed authorities to ensure the best medical care for the wounded. The chief minister expressed that such cowardly terrorist attacks would not weaken their resolve in the fight against terrorism.
