All Pakistan Dostan Football League kicks off in Peshawar

The All Pakistan Dostan Football League has kicked off in a grand style at the football ground of Qayyum Sports Complex, Peshawar, under the auspices of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Directorate General of Sports. A total of 17 teams from across the country are participating in the league.
The event was formally inaugurated by Provincial Minister for Health Mian Khaliqur Rehman.
The opening ceremony was attended by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider, CEO Dostan Club Muhammad Yousaf Afridi, Director Operations Jamshed Baloch, Assistant Director Finance Shah Faisal, international footballer Gohar Zaman, Regional Sports Officer Sajid Khan, RSO Kashif Farhan, along with other distinguished guests.
Seventeen teams from across Pakistan are competing in the league, including Police Football Club, Milyo Star Mardan, Atish Club, K-P Education Board, Afghan Football Club, Peshawar Football Club, Chitral Club, Khyber Green FATA, Quetta Football Club, DFA Bannu, Dara Markhor Club, and Coco Football Club Islamabad, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister Mian Khaliqur Rehman said that the government is taking practical steps to promote sports in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, adding that football plays a vital role in engaging youth in positive activities. He noted that such leagues not only provide players with opportunities to showcase their talent but also help raise the standard of sports in the province.
Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider stated that the Directorate is committed to promoting sports and providing better facilities to young athletes. He added that events like the All Pakistan Dostan Football League create opportunities for emerging talent and will further strengthen football in the province.
