An important meeting on FM radio stations under the Information and Public Relations Department was chaired by the Special Assistant to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan.
Secretary Information Matiullah Khan and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
The Special Assistant was given a comprehensive briefing on the establishment, objectives, and performance of Pakhtunkhwa Radio stations, including their role in promoting the national narrative and effectively publicizing the provincial government’s initiatives.
Shafi Jan directed the formulation of a comprehensive legal framework for radio transmission in the province and emphasized expanding Pakhtunkhwa Radio transmission to ensure province-wide coverage. In this regard, he instructed officials to establish five more FM radio stations to increase coverage.
He also directed authorities to take concrete steps to enhance the transmission reach of the existing 10 radio stations. Furthermore, he called for the installation of modern, high-quality transmitter at Peshawar and instructed the early launch of a dedicated website and mobile application for the radio network.
