Gen Z celebs cook with their mothers in ‘Maa Hai Na’ exploring family bonds and generational differences
Indian actor Shilpa Shetty has launched a new cooking reality series titled Maa Hai Na on a subscription-based platform.
Shilpa announced the project on Instagram, saying she is “back with a new show” serving “taste, masti and pure magic.” The 10-episode series goes beyond traditional cooking content, blending food with emotional, humorous, and chaotic family interactions.
The show brings Gen Z celebrities into the kitchen alongside their mothers to explore generational perspectives and candid conversations. Notable appearances include Sunita Ahuja with her daughter Tina Ahuja, and Urvashi Dholakia with her son Kshitij Dholakia.
The platform described the show as combining “the energy, humour, and everyday chaos of Gen Zs with the warmth, instincts, and life lessons that only a mother can bring,” adding that the kitchen often becomes the most honest space for conversation. The producers added, “The kitchen is often where the most honest conversations happen.”
Beyond television, Shetty is also known for films like Baazigar (1993) and Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), and for her wellness ventures including fitness and yoga-focused platform, Shilpa Shetty Fitness.
