Sajal Aly opens up about why acting feels like her true calling

Actor says performance offers a space to express feelings that are often constrained in everyday life

Actor Sajal Aly recently reflected on her relationship with acting, saying she cannot imagine pursuing any other profession and that the craft allows her to express emotions that are often constrained by social expectations.

Speaking at a masterclass hosted by makeup artist and creative director Babar Zaheer, Sajal discussed her journey as an actor and the personal freedom she finds through performance.

In an unreleased clip from the session, she explained that acting provides an outlet for emotions and experiences that people are not always encouraged to express openly in everyday life.

“I don’t think there would have been a better career or profession for me than acting,” she said. “I get to explore emotions that I feel are often restricted in our society. Whether it’s laughing a certain way, speaking freely or simply expressing yourself, acting allows me to do things that might otherwise feel limited.”

Her comments resonated with fans online, many of whom praised her honesty about the emotional connection she feels with her work.

Another clip from the event also gained attention on social media, showing Sajal singing the original soundtrack of her popular drama O Rangreza, which she first performed in 2017.

Sajal and Zaheer were also seen discussing makeup artistry and creative styling during the session, including Zaheer’s signature eye looks and his approach to fashion and beauty. Following the event, she shared a photograph with Zaheer on Instagram Stories and wrote, “Proud of you,” in support of his work.

Zaheer’s masterclass, held on June 13 and 14, brought together fans and aspiring creatives for discussions and demonstrations focused on makeup artistry, fashion and personal styling.
